News :: Aldercar & Langley Mill Parish Council: "A mobile gym facility is starting on 20thOctober in Langley Mill. The venture, a joint project between FIT4U Mobile Gym and Aldercar & Langley Mill Parish Council, also received financial support from Amber Valley Primary Care Trust.
The Aim of the Project
To work towards delivering sustainable FIT4U sessions in Langley Mill.

The Objectives
To run two mobile gym sessions at The Bridge Centre in Langley Mill on Thursdays 9.30am-10.30am and 10.45am-11.45am.
To work towards making the gym sustainable. The initial trial period will run until the end of March 2006.
To encourage people who are not currently exercising to attend the sessions and to promote FIT4U in the community and to local community groups in Langley Mill.
To work with Langley Mill Parish Council to gain more funding, if necessary, to subsidise the cost of the gym.
Produce an evaluation report for Amber Valley PCT and Langley Mill and Aldercar Parish Council by May 1st 2006.
Link in with local services of potential interest / benefit to the group.

The target group
People in the Langley Mill area who are currently inactive and would benefit from a weekly exercise session. The sessions are for the general population and are not aimed specifically at people with long term conditions. However, there will be people attending the sessions will have particular medical needs."
