the Amber Valley Partnership

the Amber Valley Partnership: "The Single Regeneration Budget Project in Langley Mill, Ironville and Somercotes:
In 1997, the Partnership was successful with a bid for SRB3 funding to tackle the causes of deprivation, focusing on the communities of Langley Mill, Ironville and Somercotes. With match funding form the public, private and voluntary sector, more than 9.9m worth of investment had been drawn into the local economy by the time the six year project came to an end in March 2003. Over 980 jobs were created or safeguarded and more than 9600 training weeks to local people were delivered.
Whilst, the programme has finished, other initiatives will ensure the regeneration process will continue in these areas:
Both Ironville and Langley Mill will benefit from Sure Start funding for years to come. The Heanor Market Town Project will include Langley Mill in new action plans for development of the area and will also benefit from the Amber Valley Partnership's Healthier Communities Project based at the Bridge Centre."
